How it's done...
Preheat oven to 180?C and prepare a medium cake tin by greasing lightly.
Beat the egg whites until they are stiff.
In a separate bowl, beat the egg yolks until they are thick and add half the sugar, beating continually.
Add the hot milk and the rest of the sugar, egg whites, lemon juice, lemon rind, flour, salt and baking powder.
Pour into cake tin and bake for 45 minutes and don't wait a minute to eat it!
